Software As A Service is another reference to a hosting solution. Adobe has already moved to this model and now rents their software instead of selling it. Microsoft is moving this direction; Office 365 is their answer to this business model. SAAS is always paying for your software and never actually owning it. Depending on your situation this could be a good idea because the up front cost is usually much less and support is sometimes bundled in some way.
